Sous Chef

The Farmstead at Medford is accepting applications for a full-time Sous Chef, to provide resort-style food and hospitality while developing strong, positive, and lasting relationships with our residents and guests. The Sous Chef works collaboratively with the Executive Chef & Chefs, Community Managers, and other Culinary and Dining team members.

 

Schedule, Benefits and Pay:

  • You will work the following schedule 11:00am to 7:30pm.
  • You can enjoy a delicious free meal during your shift.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • You will safely and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, eggs, and other foods in a scratch-based kitchen while maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation area.
  • You will execute a dynamic menu utilizing different cooking styles while ensuring appealing resort-like presentation for all food.
  • You will learn side by side from our expert Executive Chef and provide leadership support in the Executive Chef’s absence.
  • You monitor and stock the chef’s Pantry: and log temperatures.
  • You will work alongside the culinary and dining team in a dynamic kitchen with state-of-the-art equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience in culinary preparation and cooking preferred.
  • You have an eagerness to learn and grow as a professional in the food service industry.
  • You have experience working in a team environment, ideally in a culinary setting.
  • You have the knowledge and ability to prep, prepare and present food on a buffet as well as cook eggs and omelets to order.
  • You are knowledgeable in food sanitation guidelines and are able to operate kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Basic computer skills required: data entry experience preferred.
  • Ability to secure appropriate food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two weeks of first day of employment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Part-time Concierge

 

The Farmstead at Medford is accepting applications for a part-time Concierge to ensure a first-class customer service experience for residents and their guests. As our Concierge you are passionate about the importance of hospitality, safety, security, selling items from the market, fielding incoming calls, assisting the sales team, coordinating shuttle requests, activities coordination and collection of any fees, and providing a happy and positive impression to everyone that you interact with.  You will contribute as a member of the community leadership team.

Schedule, Benefits and Pay:

  • You will work the following schedule from 9:00am to 5:00pm Sunday and Monday.
  • You can enjoy a delicious free meal during your shift.

  • You can enjoy the fulfillment and satisfaction of serving seniors and the positive impact you make in their lives.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • You will assist in several different areas including interacting with Residents and Guests, answering the phone, marketing, administrative work, assisting with events, assisting the dining room during peak mealtimes, and perform assorted cleaning.
  • You will be the go-to person and provide a lasting first impression to visitors of the community while balancing and prioritizing many different roles and responsibilities.
  • You will anticipate the needs of Residents, Guests, and Team Members of the community, including outside vendor deliveries.
  • You will monitor and respond to emergencies such as the fire alarm panel.
  • You will support the Community Managers by assuming leadership responsibilities in their absence.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older, maintain a current driver license and clean driving record.
  • A high School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • You are able to move tables and furniture periodically, sit for an extended period, bend, reach, and lift and carry approximately 25 pounds.
  • You take the initiative and are independent, a problem-solver, able to de-escalate critical situations.
  • You can multi-task and meet deadlines while projecting a resort-like image both in person and over the phone to residents and guests of the community.
  • Strong knowledge of the local community, area, and region preferred.
  • Previous work in customer service or hospitality.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and excel).
